Age Divisions: 13-18 and 19-35
Application: Application and application fee of $40 must be received no later than July 17, 2009.
Applicants do not need to be Italian or Italian-American.

Dates: The number of elimination rounds will be determined by the number of entries. Please save the following dates - August 8 and August 15 2009.
Song Selection: You may sing any song you choose. Contestants must bring 2 CDs (NO Cassettes) that can be used as accompaniment and there must not be any vocals on the accompaniment music.
Judging: There will be at least three judges whose rankings will be worth 100% of your score. Participants will be judged on vocal performance (voice and tone quality, beat, melody and lyrics) as well as stage presence (poise, performance, and appearance). The Elimination round is open to the public. More information about this round will be mailed in late July.
Winners: Winners will be contacted via email. The winners of the final elimination round will compete at the 31th Festa Italiana on October 16th. Additional information about the final round will be given to those contestants who are selected to continue to the final round.

FINAL ROUND - OCTOBER 16, 2009 |
Competition: Performers will compete within their age division (13-18 and 19-35). Performances will begin at 7:00 and conclude at approximately 10:00pm
Song Selection: You must sing a song that is either completely or partially in Italian or a popular American song that was originally recorded by an Italian or an Italian-American Artist. Contestants must be able to provide their musical accompaniment prior to the final competition by (1) emailing in a MP3 format or (2) mailing 2 CD’s as directed by the event coordinator. There must not be any vocals on the accompaniment music. Contestant also must be able to explain how the song is "Italian" in nature.
Judging: There will be at least three judges whose rankings will be worth 75% of your score and the audience ranking will be worth 25%. If the audience wishes to participate in the judging they must purchase a score card for $1. In order for their vote to count the entire score card must be completed.
Winners: Winners will be announced on Sunday, October 18, 2009 at 2:00pm. There will be a 1st ($500), 2nd ($250) and 3rd ($100) place winner for each division. The 1st place winner in the 19-35 division will also receive a recording session with Sunny 99.1 to record an original "winner’s song" written by Radio Lounge USA. Winners in both divisions will perform their winning song on stage.
