11:00 AM Francesco’s Italy: Italy Top To Toe!

Francesco da Mosto, author and architect, takes us on a sweeping tour of the art, history and beauty of Italy. Francesco leaves Venice, his birthplace and home and heads to the romantic North in his Alfa Romeo Spider. We travel to the beautiful cities of Padova, Vicenza, Ferrara, Bologna, Mantova, Milano, Portofino and then visit Le Marche, Urbino, Florence, Lucca, Siena, and Assisi. Arriving in the heart of Italy we visit Rome, Tivoli and on to Naples. Finally we go to the South and visit Puglia, Basilicata, Reggio Calabria and Sicily in all of its splendor and it is here that Francesco’s journey becomes personal—his family lived here for over 500 years.

La Piccola Cucina – Festival Edition: La Piccola Cucina is a hands-on cultural culinary experience for children, aged 3-12 years old. Children will wear chef aprons and toques and learn basic Italian language, metric system and culture while preparing authentic Italian cuisine. Art Historian Andrew Graham-Dixon and Michelin starred chef Giorgio Locatelli take us on a delightful journey around their beloved Sicily. As they explore the island through each other’s eyes and hearts, they reveal how the layers of history have created a unique blend of art and architecture. Together they document how the various conquering forces and the rich variety of different heritages have helped to shape both the food and the culture of this beautiful Mediterranean island.

Alberobello. Come and discover the extraordinary architecture of the unique Trulli and their scenery. The Trulli of Alberobello have been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1996. Alberobello is a small town and commune of the city of Bari in Puglia. Porto Venere and Le Cinque Terre (The Five Lands). Porto Venere is a town located on the Ligurian coast of Italy in the province of La Spezia. In 1997 Porto Venere and the villages of the Cinque Terre were designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Le Cinque Terre. It is a rugged portion of coast in the region of Liguria to the west of La Spezia. “The Five Lands” comprises five villages: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Rio Maggiore. Six villages amongst sea and hills on sheer cliffs upon the beautiful Mediterranean Sea.
